Youth Theatre- Our history

Here at Badapple we make a continued commitment to offering exciting, challenging and fun theatre opportunities for young people from our local area and far beyond.

It all started with our PLAY IN A WEEK SUMMER SCHOOL courses directed by Sue Rosser that brought young people from around the country together to create a brand-new play performance in a week.

In 2017 thanks to support from local businesses and Big Lottery we were able to expand our provision to offer Youth Theatre courses within the school year under the expert stewardship of professional actor, director, writer and storyteller Richard Kay.

The Youth Theatre courses have grown and flourished ever since and we now offer year-round weekly skills and performance sessions for ages 7-14. Sue Rosser came on board in 2019 as our Education Director to devise a new programme of events and co-ordinate the Youth Theatre BIG shows that take place in February and June.

Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more about how to get involved or book us for your venue.
